This year’s Off Road Mountain Bike event includes two new exciting courses, making the adventure more challenging and even more technical than ever before!
Registration
You can pre-register for any or all of these races online using the link at the top of this page. Alternatively, you can download the information leaflet with application form above. Early registration is required, the form should arrive at Club La Santa no later than January 20th 2012.
The race pack collection for pre-registered participants is on Friday, 27th of January, 16.00 – 19.00 hrs, in the Square at Club La Santa. For more information please contact events@clublasanta.com
You must carry a license issued from your national Cycling Federation which is valid for 2012. If you do not have these, you will be required to purchase a Spanish day license for each Stage at registration.
Course Description
90% of the course is off road, covering sand, lava fields and dirt tracks in the north of the island.
The new Time Trial stage starts from Caleta de Famara going up to Las Nieves (approx. 25 K) with 500 meters of climbing.
The new and hardest race ‘XL’ leads the riders from Club La Santa towards Teguise, continuing to the bottom of the mountain close to the water dam, then up to the windmills (more than 10K climb). The return journey takes participants through Teguise and on to Club La Santa.
Participants in the Cadets, and Leisure Riders categories can compete in half of the course on the longest races (stages 2 & 4). Participants in the Juniors category can compete in half of the course on stage 4 and in the full course in the other three stages.
Aid Stations and Medical Care
One water station is located on the course during races 1 and 3, and two stations on the courses for races 2 and 4. Participants should still carry their own bike bottles and other essentials. The aid station at the finish line will provide water, Coca-Cola, fruit and sandwiches. Full medical care will be available throughout the race.

Return service from the Finish Area at Las Nieves - Club La Santa.
The bus will leave when all participants registered for the transfer have passed the Finish line.
Tuesday January 31st
Juniors, Cadets & Leisure rider categories only:
09.30 Reception Club La Santa - Start area of the 1/2 course (Guatiza)
Participants will be able to register for the Bus Service on Friday January 27th, 16.00-19.00 hrs at Club La Santa while collecting their race packs. Participants are responsible for delivering and collecing their own bikes (the bus and bike truck will leave at the same time).

* Leisure Riders, Cadets can compete in the whole race for stages 1 and 3, but only half of the race in stages 2 and 4. Juniors can compete in the whole race for stages 1, 2 and 3, but only half of the race in stage 4.
Awards
Race 1,2,3,4:
Daily prizes for the male and female age group winners
Daily Prize money* for the overall top 3 Winners in the male/ female category:
1-150€ 2-100 € 3-50 €
4 Stages overall:
Trophies for the overall top 5 male/ female and prizes for the top male/ female in each age group.
Medals for all finishers.
4 Stages Prize Money* for the overall top 5 Winners of the 4 stages in the male/female category:
1-800 € 2-600 € 3-400 € 4-150 € 5- 75 €
*Local tax & bank commissions will be deducted from the prizes. The top winners (male/ female) are entitled to the prize money only if they finish within +15% of the finishing time of the Winner of the race in the respective category (male/female).
The prize money is based on the combination of the time and position of all stages.
T-shirts for all participants and medals for the finishers of all 4 stages.
Rules
• The Spanish Cycling Federation rules must be followed
• Only Mountain Bikes will be admitted to race
• The MTB must be in perfect working condition. Each participant must carry out a safety check of the bike before participating (oiled chain, perfect functioning shifters and brakes, tires in good condition, etc). The final check will be performed by the judges of the Spanish Cycling Federation
• Participants should carry spare parts
• Your race number must be placed on your back, the front of your helmet and the front of your bike
• It is mandatory to wear a helmet
• The bikers are not allowed to receive any help from others than the organization
Timing
The MyLaps ChampionChip has been selected as the official timing system.
