BELGIAN OLYMPIC TEAM – Nov 2009

BELGIAN OLYMPIC TEAM VISIT TO LANZAROTE NOVEMBER 2009

Once again, the favorable climate, natural beauty and perfect training conditions that Lanzarote have to offer have played a major part in the return of the BELGIAN OLYMPIC TEAM, their Patrons and Press Team this year to Club La Santa.

The team did enjoy yet another successful visit to Lanzarote in November 2009, have already confirmed their next visit in 2010 and are planning to come again in 2011 to take them up to the Olympics in London 2012 as it has proved once more to be the optimal place for them to host a training camp of this caliber for their Olympic Team Members.

The organizers, Eddy De Smedt – Sports Director and Chef de Mission for the London Olympic 2012 Games and Rudy Lahor – Assistant - are more than pleased to tell us that Club La Santa is an excellent choice and an outstanding venue for their particular needs as we can offer them an all round training program with a wide range of Sports and Conference facilities to ensure a smooth, enjoyable and rewarding training camp every time. That, coupled with the “Natural Training Ground” and the breathtaking scenery that is PURE LANZAROTE blends to make the perfect recipe for the camps.

The team and its organizers have been coming here since the early 90’s and they are firm fans of the unspoilt natural and dramatic beauty of the island of Lanzarote. The fantastic weather conditions are also a great motivational factor for the team at this time of year when it is cold in their homeland and the relatively short travelling time to get here helps ensure that they arrive fresh and ready to go!

This year, as well as the intense training, they have had the opportunity to enjoy an excursion to the mysterious, unique and awe inspiring Timanfaya National Park and Jameos Del Agua – organized with the help of the Lanzarote Tourist Board. They spent a relaxing day, taking in some of the best sights that Lanzarote has to offer and came back to Club La Santa thoroughly amazed by it all. It was a highlight for them to remember always.
