A classic event that has risen in popularity over the last twenty years to become a firm favorite, with many competitors taking part. The Challenge is comprised of four races taking place on four consecutive days, over various terrains and distances. The event attracts international sports enthusiasts sharing the common purpose of competition and enjoyment.
Registration
Pre-registration is required before November 22nd 2012. The price for the entry fee is 25€ for each individual race and 75€ for all 4 races including an event t-shirt. The full payment for the race entry fee & the ChampionChip deposit (20€) will take place on Saturday, 24th of November, 13.00 - 18.00 hrs, Club La Santa.
Additionally you can book and pay your travel arrangements with your nearest Club La Santa office/agency. Please contact them for latest offers. Club La Santa reserves the right to cancel or change the event.
Club Competition (Running Club members only)
Running Club members are welcome to team up to take part in this event. All team members
will also be eligible for individual awards. To take part, you must be a team of 4 members of the
same Running Club, either all male or all female. The team score will be calculated using the
3 best scores of each team in each race. Runners can only be part of 1 team.
Course Description
Race 1 - Clásica de Lanzarote -10K Road Race
Starting at the Stadium you will run on asphalt roads toward the villages of La Santa and Caleta de Caballo (2 loops race course).
Race 2 - 13K Ridge Run
Starting at the Stadium you will run on both dirt trails and asphalt roads around one of the big volcanoes near to Club La Santa.
Race 3 - 5K Beach Race
Buses will take the participants on a half hour ride to the beach in Puerto del Carmen, where the run will take place on soft sand.
Race 4 - 21K La vuelta de Tinajo
The last race starts at Los Dolores Church in Mancha Blanca and will take you around the volcanic Montaña de Tinache (1 loop) through Tinajo and back to Club La Santa on both asphalt and dirt tracks. You will finish the race with 300m of the track in the Stadium before receiving your International Running Challenge medal.

Categories and Awards
Age categories
U/20, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79.
Please be aware that your actual age on the first race day is the one that counts during the International Running Challenge.
Awards Race 1, 2, 3, 4
1st male/female: 60 €
2nd male/female: 30 €
3rd male/female: 20 €
Gift certificates for Age Group Winners
Overall 4 days challenge awards
Top 3 male/ female and the winner of each age group male/ female will receive a trophy.
Trophies to the top 3 clubs in each category (male and female).
All finishers of all four races will receive a challenge medal.
Overall Winners are not eligible for an age group award.
Timing
MyLaps ChampionChip has been selected as the official timing system.
Medical Service
Full medical care will be available during the event.
