Padel tennis was originated by Frank Peer Beale in 1898 to help children learn to play tennis. In 1959 Murray Geller revised the rules, where it evolved into the modern game of padel tennis that is played today.
Padel tennis is very similar to regular tennis, and can be played both in singles or doubles; however it is most often played in doubles. The biggest difference to regular tennis is that the court has walls and the balls can be played of them in a similar way as in the game of squash.
Padel tennis is a great game for everybody, because it is easy to pick up and is less physically demanding than other similar sports such as squash. |
