Pilates, Pilates Reformer and Aerial Pilates

That’s why Pilates is so good...

Pilates is a training system that strengthens and keeps your body supple at the same time. You do not train isolated muscle groups as with weight training, but you strengthen both small and large muscles, which give slim, strong and flexible muscles instead of strong, short and plump ones.

Pilates stimulates blood circulation throughout the body and is ideal for rehabilitation after injury or surgery.

We also offer Pilates Reformer and we have 15 reformer machines. With springs and pulleys in the reformer, you can push yourself to a level above what you can achieve with traditional Pilates. Reformer is used worldwide by both physiotherapists and top athletes.

Pilates is one of Club La Santa's most popular activities, and our skilled instructors always deliver high quality and a guarantee for the metabolism.

  • Plenty of groups for Pilates, Pilates Reformer and functional training every week, with inspiring and enthusiastic instructors from the Green Team

  • All groups, as well as most other activities, are free to use and participate in. We call it “all sport included”

  • We hold theme weeks and events all year round with fitness classes

Three types of Pilates at Club La Santa every week!

Pilates - traditional

Stability training that enhances your flexibility, strength and stamina in the legs, abdomen, arms, hips and back. We focus on strengthening the spine, pelvis and breathing. Moreover, pilates gives a strong core strength and improves motor skills and balance.

Aerial Pilates

Aerial Pilates is a combination of Pilates principles and circus-fit. Hammocks are used to strengthen the muscles in the pelvis, abdomen and core. Hammocks are also used to perform a decompression of the spinal column. The class ends with a short relaxation session in hammocks.

Facts about Joseph Pilates

You will feel a difference after the first time, after 10 times you can see a difference and after 30 times you will have a new body.

Joseph Pilates

German Joseph Pilates invented the Pilates exercise system in the early 1900s. As a child he had been very frail and sick. Driven by the desire for a stronger body, in his teens Pilates began to lift weights, box and do yoga. The training was so intense that the German became an expert in a number of sports.

As a 32-year-old Pilates moved to England, where he earnt a living as a professional boxer and circus performer. When World War 1 broke out, he was detained since he was a German citizen. It was here that Pilates developed his unique training system, which he used to rehabilitate wounded British soldiers.
