Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote - 27th Edition

Test yourself and find new limits in the Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote, traversing a uniquely beautiful and dramatic volcanic landscape.  

 

Course Description

Swim (cut off 2h 20min after race start).
The 3.8 km swim is a 2 lap rectangular course taking place in the Atlantic Ocean just outside Puerto del Carmen. The water is around 18-19 degrees, and wetsuits are mandatory.

Bike (cut off 11h 30min after race start)
The 180.2 km bike course challenges participants to a hilly and typically windy ride that brings you through the Fire Mountains and up to the northern part of the island with testing switchback turns and a steep climb up to the most northern point of the island with beautiful views of the neighbouring island of La Graciosa.

Run (cut off 17h 00min after race start)
The run is typically hot and sunny with 3 laps keeping athletes close to the spectators in Puerto del Carmen.

IRONMAN World Championship


The Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote is an official qualifying event for the IRONMAN World Championship in Hawaii. 40 slots to the 2018 IRONMAN World Championship will be allocated to age groups according to the number of participants in each group,  guaranteeing at least one slot in each group.

The race is a 1000 points qualifying event in the professionals category. For more information regarding the IRONMAN Kona Qualifying points please visit: www.ironmanpromembership.com.

Athletes who qualify for the IRONMAN World Championship 2018 must be present at the Hawaii registration, Sunday May 27th 2018 at 11:00 in Club La Santa, in order to accept the slot and register personally.

Prize money


The top 6 male and 6 female finishers in the professional class are eligible for the prize money*. The prize money is US$ 25.000 in total and will be distributed as follows:

1st. US$ 5.000
2nd. US$ 2.750
3rd. US$ 1.750
4th. US$ 1.250
5th. US$ 1.000
6th. US$ 750

*Local tax and bank commissions will be deducted from the prize money.

*As per the World Triathlon Corporation rules, all age group athletes will be assigned to the relevant age group category according to their year of birth.
