After evaluating the status of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Canary Islands and Spain, and the resulting restrictions in place, we regret to inform you that the Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote cannot take place in May 2021 and has been rescheduled for 3rd July 2021.

IRONMAN Lanzarote by Club La Santa

Register for the IRONMAN Lanzarote

The legendary Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote celebrates its 29th edition on the 3rd July 2021. 

IRONMAN Lanzarote Festival begins and finishes at Club La Santa. 

Registration for the 2021 IRONMAN Lanzarote is open at ironmanlanzarote.com.

 

 

Course Description

Swim (cut off 2h 20min after race start).
The 3.8 km swim is a 1 lap course taking place in the Atlantic Ocean just outside Puerto del Carmen. The water is around 18-19 degrees, and wetsuits are mandatory.

Bike (cut off 11h 30min after race start)
The 180.2 km bike course challenges participants with strong winds and leads athletes around the island with over 2500 meters of climbing, through the Fire Mountains and up to the northernmost part of the island with beautiful views of the neighbouring island of La Graciosa. The roads will be closed to traffic and participants will have lots of support from volunteers along the way.

Run (cut off 17h 00min after race start)
The 3 lap run course is typically hot and sunny and keeps athletes close to the spectators in Puerto del Carmen.

IRONMAN World Championship


The Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote is an official qualifying event for the IRONMAN World Championship in Hawaii. 40 slots for the 2021 IRONMAN World Championship will be allocated to age group athletes according to the number of participants in each, with at least one slot guaranteed for each category.

Age groups athletes who qualify for the IRONMAN World Championship 2021, must be present at the Hawaii registration the day after the race at 11:00 at Club La Santa, in order to accept the slot and register personally. 

The World Championship slots allocation for PRO athletes will take place the day after the race at 20:30 during the Awards Ceremony at Club La Santa.

Prize money


The top 6 male and 6 female finishers in the professional class are eligible for prize money*. The prize money is US$ 25,000 in total and will be distributed as follows:

1st - US$ 5,000
2nd - US$ 2,750
3rd - US$ 1,750
4th - US$ 1,250
5th - US$ 1,000
6th - US$ 750

*The prize money will be paid after deduction of personal tax, according to the international agreements for each country. The prize money will be paid to the athletes by bank transfer (does not include bank commissions). The prize money winners will receive a form via email a few days after the race. This form must be completed and returned to the event organizers along with a copy of their ID/passport.


*As per the World Triathlon Corporation rules, all age group athletes will be assigned to the relevant age group category according to their year of birth.
