Lanzarote International Running Challenge

26th - 29th November 2017
A classic event that has risen in popularity over the last twenty years to become a firm favourite. The Challenge is comprised of four races taking place on four consecutive days, over various terrains and distances. The event attracts runners from all over Europe, for competition but also to enjoy a fun, social atmosphere.


Course Description

NEW: Kids Challenge - for Kids aged 4-15 years

Kids 4-7 years, 400 m. (1 loop of the running track)
Kids 8-11 years, 800 m. (2 loops of the running track)
Kids 12-15 years, 1200 m. (3 loops of the running track)

Race 1 - 10K Vince Regan Memorial Classic Road Run

New course: Start and Finish in the Stadium, Club La Santa. 3 loops around La Santa lagoon (most of the course is on asphalt).

Race 2 - 13K Ridge Run

You will run on both dirt trails and asphalt roads around one of the big volcanoes near to Club La Santa.

Race 3 - 5K Beach Race
Buses will take the you to the beach in Puerto del Carmen, where you will run on soft sand.

Race 4 - 21K La vuelta de Tinajo
New start: runners will start in Tinajo, running around part of the volcanic "Montaña de Tinache" and back to Club La Santa on both asphalt and dirt tracks, finishing with 300m of the track in the Stadium.

Please note that while you can sign up for the race here, you will need to collect your race pack at Club La Santa on Saturday, 25th of November, 13:00-18:00 hrs. where you will be requested to pay a 20€ chip deposit (the deposit will be given back after the last race you are signed for).
The entry fee is 25€ for each individual race and 75€ for all 4 races including an event t-shirt. The deadline for registration is the 22nd of November at 13:00h. CET.


Insurance on Race day

It is the responsibility of the participants to ensure to be covered by their private or running club insurance on race days, or you will be required to purchase a single day license at registration. This cost will be 5€ for 1,2,3 or 4 races. 

Places are limited, early booking is advisable to avoid disappointment.

Book and pay for your accommodation and travel arrangements online today or with your nearest Club La Santa office/ agency. Club La Santa reserves the right to cancel or change the event if under subscribed.

Club Competition

Running Club members are welcome to team up to take part in this event. All team members will also be eligible for individual awards. To take part, you must be a team of 4 members of the same Running Club, either all male or all female. The team score will be calculated using the 3 best scores of each team in each race. Runners can only be part of 1 team.

The Team Captain is responsible to make sure that his Team members have registered online as individual competitors and to confirm the Team name and the Full name of each team member to


U/20, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79. The age group is defined by runners' actual age on the first race day.


The MyLaps ChampionChip is the official timing system for all participants.

The organization reserves the right to use gun-time for all runners.


Medical Care

Full medical care will be available during the event.

1st male/female: 60 €
2nd male/female: 30 €
3rd male/female: 20 €

Gift certificates for the 1st Age Group Winners (male/female)

Overall 4 days challenge awards
Trophy to top 3 males/ females and the winner of each age group male/ female
Trophies to the top 3 clubs in each category (male and female).
All finishers of all four races will receive a challenge medal.

Overall Winners are not eligible for an age group award.

Official ship transport

The shipping company Naviera Armas offers a special 25% discount on routes between the Canary Islands for the participants and friends or family travelling with them.
