Welcome to the Volcano Triathlon, a classic event since 1984, enhanced by the presence of many World Champions. Be a part of this challenging olympic distance triathlon and rub shoulders with the best triathletes in Europe.
1,5km Swim Course (Cut off: 1 hr after race start) A clearly marked course in the calm, saltwater lagoon at Club La Santa. The water temperature is approximately 19ºC and the use of wetsuits is allowed.
40km Bike Course (Cut off: 3hr 30m after race start) Two loop course. Participants ride towards Caleta de Caballo, up to Soo, down to Caleta de Famara and back. No drafting.
10km Run Course (Cut off: 4hr 30m after race start) Two loop course. Participants leave the Stadium, turn right and continue along the road until the turn point, then run back the same way. They repeat the same course once more to complete the 10km.

Timing and Medical Care
Race Results is the official timing system for all participants. Full medical care will be available during the event.
The ITU (International Triathlon Union) Competition Rules must be followed
Race pack collection: all athletes have to collect their race number personally and present their photo identification (ID or passport)
The torso of the athlete must be covered
Bike race number: you must wrap the sticker around the seat post of your bike and place 3 stickers on your helmet (front & both sides)
Run: you must wear a clearly visible race number on the front of your racing kit
Normal traffic rules must be obeyed
Drafting is not allowed
The use of wetsuits is allowed
It is obligatory for athletes to stop in the penalty box (inside the transition zone) when shown a blue card
Insurance on race day: it is the responsibility of the athlete to make sure that they are covered by their Triathlon Federation Insurance on race day (Triathlon Federation/National, Governing Body of their Nation). If an athlete has no insurance, they must purchase a 1 Day Race Licence at the online registration or later via the Athlete Self Service page. (1 Day Race Licence fee: 5€).
Cut off Times: - Swim: 1hr (from the race start) - Bike: 3hrs 30mins (from the race start) - Run: 4hrs 30mins (from the race start)

Categories and Awards
Age Groups for the individual triathlon 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79 Minimum age:18 years Trophy for the winner of each age Age Group. Awards for the individual triathlon Participant T-shirt and medal to all finishers
Prize money* is awarded in Euros to the overall top 10 finishers, male/female: 1. 1000€ 6. 100€ 2. 600€ 7. 75€ 3. 400€ 8. 75€ 4. 300€ 9. 75€ 5. 200€ 10. 75€
*Local tax and bank commissions will be deducted from the prize money
The team must be composed of 3 members (1 swimmer, 1 cyclist, 1 runner), either males, females or mixed.
Registration Relay Teams
Price until 20th October 2021: Relay Team fee: 100 Euros
Price from 21st October - 2nd November 2021: Relay Team fee: 110 Euros

Payment of entry fee is by credit card or PayPal only. It is not possible to defer the slot to another year.
Relay Exchange Rules
General Rules apply to the Relay Teams members (please see above)
Insurance on Race day: it is the responsibility of the athlete to make sure that they are covered by their Triathlon Federation Insurance on Race Day (Triathlon Federation/National, Governing Body of their Nation). If an athlete has no insurance, they must purchase a 1 Day Race Licence at the race pack collection on-site (1 Day License Relay Teams fee: 3€ for Team members)
The Race Results Chip will act as the race baton and must be exchanged between each team member in the Transition Zone.
The Race Results Chip must be worn on the left ankle in all 3 disciplines.
Each team member must attach the timing chip to their left ankle before the start of thier discipline within the Transition Zone.
The next designated team member may assist the incoming one by removing the chip and reattaching it to their own ankle, but only once the first one has passed the timing mats in the Transition Zone.
