Renewed Tennis Court 8 with SMASH-BACK wall
While we are waiting for our brand new Centre court to be finished within short time, our exclusive tennis court beside the South hall is renewed.
This exclusive court has been undergoing a complete refurbishment as well as it is now surrounded by solid walls on three sides to protect for the wind. The court is equipped with a 14 meter unique SMASH-BACK tennis wall as well as line indications for training on the opposite straight concrete wall will be added. The unique curve geometry means you can train almost as if you were training with a real opponent.
The unique shape of the tennis practise wall is created in collaboration with tennis professionals. The result is the ball bouncing realistically - similar to the return from an opponent.
We are proud to open an indeed upgraded version of the Wellness Centre. We will have a nice new main entrance from the pool side, accessible for disabled people. Inside there will be a new large unisex sauna, massage showers, ice fountain and steam bath with illuminated star ceiling. From the inside you can go to the open air relax area. We will have several new and interesting treatments. The interior design is kept in a more natural colour tone to give the impression of sustainability and stability. A complete new treatment will be our CryoSpace®, a full body ice box to cool you down to -196 degrees for max 3 min. It uses the body’s physiological capabilities and are not only beneficial but also effective in restoring and sustaining human body balance.
In 2016 the heating system of the North Pool was improved with solar panels to heat up the water in an environmentally friendly way.
During the summer of 2018 the North Pool was completely renovated: The renovation mainly consisted in new waterproofing, changing exterior pavements, improvements in showers and machinery room.
The new roof has a positive impact on the acoustic in the hall and solid isolation to keep the temperature low inside the hall. There is a fresh airflow system in the hall. The floor is a new, international combi elastic sports floor. It is a wooden floor with a small 7mm point elastic surface for outstanding shock attenuation.
The sports functional features of the floor are intended primarily for badminton, volleyball and handball. At the same time, a new lighting system and walls in green colour give the best suitable circumstances for badminton and ballgames.
The north hall can facilitate up to 6 badminton courts, 3 training courts for Volley and one international Volley court in the centre and a handball court. We also have all the equipment to facilitate floorball in the north hall.
Our 5-A-side has a brand new surface. It is a new artificial grass surface that is approved by FIFA to play world championship in 5-a-side football.
We will probably not be able to host a FIFA world championship, but we recommend that you bring your football shoes and play like a champ.
The surface is also suitable for all other activities and very nice for barefoot fitness.
Laguna and Volcano
The outdoor arenas, Volcano and Laguna, have a brand-new EPDM surface type M (Multi-functionality). It is a nice and soft surface ideal for all kinds of aerobics, stretching etc.
Laguna is a little less soft than the Volcano, which gives us different opportunities to suit the type of classes according to this.
The new surface is less heat-absorbing as the former surface, so you will not feel the same warmth under your feet and hands-on sunny days at Club La Santa.
We hope everyone will enjoy the new surface that is made in a beautiful spring colour May Green.
New Beach Volleyball court and two new slacklines
Now, we have an extra Beach Volleyball court and two slacklines by the Watersport Center.
The Club La Santa fitness centre has undergone a major renovation and facelift in the form of new painted walls and mirrors and new machines from Precor for both cardio and weight training.
Many of the cardio machines been replaced in favour of free weights to meet the demand for more options for free weights and weight training in the gym. A new air system that provides more natural air inside the gym has been installed providing a better air circulation during exercise.
Due to the increased demand to play padel tennis, two new padel tennis courts have been built so the total number of courts is now five, almost doubling the capacity.
The new Club La Santa padel tennis surface has artificial turf from Polytan with mono fibres that ensure maximum durability and strength . All of the padel tennis courts have now been resurfaced.
