From 26th June, face masks are no longer mandatory outdoors if a social distance of 1.5m can be maintained. However, it is still mandatory to carry a face mask with you at all times and to wear it if situations occur where social distance is not possible.
Type of face masks
The Spanish and Canary Islands authorities recommend the use of surgical/medical face masks or reusable fabric face masks. Face masks with exhalation valves must not be used. Club La Santa sells both surgical/medical face masks and reusable fabric face masks, that can be used during your stay. You should be aware that your airline may have specific requirements for face masks to be worn during the flight.
Below you can find guidelines for the use of face masks in Lanzarote and at Club La Santa.
A face mask must be worn in all indoor public areas unless you are:
eating or drinking at a table in a restaurant or bar
in your apartment
In outdoor public areas face masks are required if a minimum distance of 1.5 meters cannot be maintained. Except for groups of cohabitants. It is mandatory to bring a face mask at all times and to put it on in situations where social distance is not possible.
Only children under the age of 6 are exempt from these rules. Please note, that you are not exempt from wearing a face mask in Spain even if you suffer from any physical or mental conditions that exempts you from wearing a face mask in your home country.
